Chantilly Air was established in 1990 as a corporate flight department serving the needs of our principals’ and their affiliated companies. Our evolution into an executive charter provider started with an AMR Worldwide Charter Services partnership, the executive aviation arm of American Airlines. After many years of experience we obtained our own FAA Part 135 Air Carrier Certificate qualifying us an independent aircraft charter operator. <find out more about us>

January 2007-Chantilly Air is awarded an ARG/US Platinum Rating after on-site safety audit completion.

Chantilly Air recently completed an Aviation Research Group on-site safety audit and was awarded the highest level rating available, Platinum.

Chantilly Air is extremely proud of this accomplishment and to be a part of an elite group of charter operators in the US with an ARG/US Platinum designation.

In order to be awarded an ARG/US Platinum Rating, an operator must possess a good safety history, meet high equipment, systems, and personnel standards, maintain complete, current, and accurate pilot and aircraft records, and pass a “Process and Systems" on-site audit that verifies that the flight operation is managed, organized, and run consistent with industry best practices and reflects a clear commitment to safety.

November 2006-Chantilly Air Breaks Ground On New Hangar and Office Facility.

Manassas, VA (HEF) November 2006. Chantilly Air, Inc., a premier aircraft charter and management service headquartered in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area, has broken ground on a new 36,000 square foot hangar complex to include 26,000 square feet of aircraft storage and maintenance hangar space and 10,000 square feet of office and shop space.

Chantilly Air began as a single jet corporate flight department in 1990 and has enjoyed tremendous success over the past 17 years expanding its business offerings to include aircraft charter, aircraft management, and most recently aircraft maintenance.

Due to its outstanding team of employees and superior reputation the company has experienced an unprecedented 300% growth in just the last five years.

"The addition of the new hangar is the next logical step in Chantilly Air’s evolution. It will further strengthen our relationships with our existing clients and will be a significant added benefit to our future customers,” said Tim Sullivan Chief Operating Officer.

The hangar, which is expected to be completed in the spring of 2007, will be located on the east side of the Manassas Regional Airport.

October 2006- Chantilly Air Receives FAA FAR Part 145 Repair Station Certification

Over the last year Chantilly Air has made great strides in building a top-quality Maintenance Department and is now a FAA FAR Part 145 Certificated Repair Station.
